Emily Lassiter: I am a Financial Advisor at Somerset Advisory at Hightower. I recently joined Hightower Somerset after many years in the legal profession. I grew up in Montgomery, AL and went to Auburn University where I received a Business degree. I then went to the University of Alabama School of Law and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2000. After graduation, I went into private practice for several years and then managed pending litigation for a captive insurance group that insured long term care facilities.
In 2018 I made the decision to make a career shift. My choice to shift career paths from an attorney to a Financial Advisor was made from the desire to proactively serve clients in a more comprehensive way. After losing my husband unexpectantly in an accident, I know firsthand the value of having a trusted advisor to help you devise a long-term plan and carry it out. As a result, my practice leans heavily towards the planning. I enjoy getting to know the client, learning about their goals and dreams, and helping them devise a long-term plan; my passion is empowering them to implement the plan and achieve their goals.
When I am not serving clients, I spend my time parenting my two teenage daughters. We love to travel and explore all that the world has to offer. My goal with my children is the same as it is with my clients: to give them the tools they need to face any situation that life brings and to do it gracefully and with integrity.
